Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety can feel like constant worry, excessive fear, and being stuck in the future considering "what if".

At the Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, we are anxiety specialists. Anxiety needs to be met with a unique, individual or what is known as person centered approach. We need to focus on you. There is no one else like you, and so why would a textbook method of treatment work for everyone? We first start by taking a look at coping mechanisms that could bring you immediate relief. Then, we jump into the muck and heaviness that is anxiety to try and understand why it is causing such unhappiness.

If you are struggling with anxiety, chances are you are struggling to take the first step on your journey with therapy. There are so many what ifs. What if this doesn't work? What if I can't be helped? Well, there are no answers if we don't try. What if you met with our Care Coordinator who would listen to your fears and nervousness in a free consultation session? What if that Care Coordinator were to walk you through your first steps, and help you get started? And what if you were matched with a therapist that could help you reconnect with you, while your anxiety took a back seat?
At the Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, our approach to Counselling for Anxiety is unique and tailored to you.
It can be overwhelming to find anxiety help in Ontario. There are so many options to search through from online therapy programs or text messaging services to endless therapy directories. Our goal is to help take away the guess work. We know that your anxiety wants a fix. It wants to feel better. During our free consultation call, our Care Coordinator will speak with you about what it is your anxiety needs and which therapist will be best suited to work with you.

In that first call, any questions you have will be answered, and you will be walked through the first steps necessary before your therapist will begin their work with you. This call helps to take out any guess work, while acknowledging the fear and uncertainty that can come with starting something new.

Once you complete the necessary paperwork with our Care Coordinator, you will be transitioned to working with a therapist directly. Your therapist will spend some time getting to know you, and your anxiety and working with you to feel safe and comfortable in your session.
