Insurance Coverage

Every insurance company differs in how they provide coverage information. Sometimes this can be found through an app or website, and other times you must call your provider. Key things to look for or ask about when checking your insurance coverage:

Title of the Professional

Ensure the coverage specifies Psychotherapy or Psychotherapist. Our therapists are Registered Psychotherapists. Coverage may be listed under mental health, psychology, psychologist office visit, psychological testing, paramedical services, and mental health practitioner.

Amount or Percentage of Reimbursement

Typically, this ranges from 80% to 100%. This means you are covered for a percentage of your total session fee. For example, if a session costs $150 and your coverage is for 80% reimbursement, you will receive $120 from your insurer, and you'll pay $30 out of pocket.

Session Limits, Lifetime Limits, or Joint Coverage Limits

Insurance providers often set limits on coverage. This could be based on the service type or in a grouped category. Important: If you only see a reimbursement amount, this does NOT mean you have unlimited coverage. Contact your insurer to confirm the specific coverage amount.

Deductibles

Some insurance companies require a deductible, meaning you pay a one-time fee (typically per year) when starting your services.
