About Us
In 2020, Talisa, our Founder and Practice Director, transformed her vision into reality by launching the Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy. Having completed her education and internship that same year, Talisa was driven by a profound commitment to improving the practicum experiences of new therapists. Her own journey through a less than ideal internship inspired her to establish a teaching and learning clinic where interns and therapists could receive comprehensive, supportive, and enriching supervision.
Our Mission
At The Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, we are dedicated to fostering the professional growth of therapists in Ontario through exceptional clinical supervision. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where learning is celebrated, challenges are met with support, and every therapist can flourish in their practice.
When naming the practice, Talisa's love for travel and her dedication to mental health collided beautifully. "The Journey" symbolizes the individual paths we walk in life. What began as a solo endeavor swiftly blossomed into a collaborative venture. In March 2022, The Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy was born, reflecting our commitment to guiding others through their unique journeys.
Meet the Team
We know that when choosing a therapist, it is all about the fit. Choosing a supervisor is much the same. Get to know us by reading our bios!
Acknowledgement of Traditional Lands
While we serve clients from all across Ontario, our founding location and current office operates out of the Grey Highlands in Grey County, Ontario. It is important to acknowledge that the Grey Bruce Area now sits on the traditional territory of the Haudensaunee (Iroquois), Ojibway/Chippewa and Anishnabek. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties.

We acknowledge that we are working on aboriginal land that has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples from the beginning.
As settlers, we're grateful for the opportunity to work here and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land - for thousands of years.
We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. As settlers, this recognition of the contributions and historic importance of Indigenous peoples must also be clearly and overtly connected to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our communities, and in particular to bring justice for murdered and missing indigenous women and girls across our country.
